Agnes + Cat Botanical Soy Wax Candle – Rydal Oudh

Light this scented soy wax candle when the room wants a deeper, quieter mood. Rydal Oudh brings a warm, woody atmosphere to the home, with a glass jar that shows creamy wax and pressed yellow botanicals through the sides.

A warm woodland scent

The oudh character gives the candle depth, with a resinous, woody feel rather than a bright or sugary sweetness.

Its mood is reflective and grounded, suited to slow evenings, reading corners and a low-lit table.

The Rydal inspiration brings to mind damp stone paths, old trees and still water after rain.

The wood wick adds a soft crackle as it burns, bringing a fireside quality to the scent.

The pale wax and visible yellow botanicals keep the look gentle, clean and calm in the room.

Soy wax with a wood wick

The candle is made with soy wax in a clear glass jar, finished with a wood wick. Soy wax is plant-based and often chosen for its steady melt, while the wood wick gives the flame a little texture and sound.

Glass, paper and quiet presentation

The jar has a simple cylindrical shape with the label on the front. It is presented in a white paper box, with the clean design keeping the focus on the candle and its botanical look.

Burning it well

Place the candle on a heat-proof holder or plate before lighting. Trim the wick to about 5 mm before each burn, and allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface where possible.

Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it away from anything flammable. Once finished and fully cool, the glass jar can be cleaned and kept for small everyday things.

Rydal, water and poetry

Rydal is closely linked with William Wordsworth, whose life and writing were shaped by the Lake District landscape. This candle takes that setting as its starting point: wooded paths, moss-softened walls and the hush around the water. Oudh is traditionally valued in perfumery for its deep, resinous woodiness, so the scent feels at home with that inward, rain-washed scenery. It is a candle for…
