Product Information: Antioxidant Enhancement Targeted Wellness Benefits - High Purity - Pride Antioxidant Enhancement Standardized Ingredients Herbal Supplement Natural Source of Antioxidants. What is Bilberry Extract? Bilberries, a close relative of blueberries, are fruits that grow in North America, Europe, and Asia. Popular in jams, pies, and other desserts, bilberries are a natural source of biologically active ingredients, including a class called anthocyanosides. Anthocyanosides, responsible for the deep blue color of bilberries, are antioxidants that protect cells from free radical damage. Historically, bilberries have been used globally and in the military to support eye health. One researcher provided bilberries to British Royal Air Force pilots during World War II. What are the key benefits of Vitacost® Bilberry Extract - Standardized? Bilberries contain polyphenols and anthocyanidins, which possess antioxidant properties. Protects against lipid oxidation. Supports antioxidant enzyme activity. Incorporating berries into your diet helps increase quercetin, a very powerful antioxidant.
